[SIZE="3"]中国口吃社区置顶帖—“[公告]2006年国际口吃日网上会议正式开幕!”中,

Results of our treatment program
Our treatment has been successful with 95 percent of the people we have seen for therapy. We have been successful with 767 people from February 1996 to May 2006. That number reflects 616 males and 151 females. The oldest stutterer was 71 years old and the youngest was only five. They came from different professional fields, such as, professor, presidents, manager, doctor, nurse, engineer, teacher, students, PLA men, athletes, workers, farmers.

智在沟通评价:这里用的是successful,而不是improvement(改善) effectiveness(有效)。

What about the leftover 5%?

Comments (Stephanie Anderson
A 95% success rate is pretty amazing, but just out of curiousity, what happened to the other 5%? Did these people have a common thing between them that possibly could be the reason the treatment did not work? Have any of them tried to re-do the treatment to see if it would would work out the second time?

There are several situations among the other 5%, some of them have low intelligence quotient IQ(below 80),some of them do not follow the rules and orders of treatments, the last part of them are those can not keep on practicing and easy to give up people.

I agree with Stephanie when saying that a 95% success rate is amazing! But what in your terms how do you define success or being "cured?" Does that mean that the patients stopped stuttering in 100% of their daily speech, or was it just that they reduced their stuttering down to a minimum?
我同意Stephanie(前一个评论人)所说的95%成功率是令人惊异的说法!
